How will 1980, 2025, and 2080 look different within cities and between cities? How can we observe, reveal, and interpret this 100-year change process?

Over centuries, adaptive humankind has embraced population growth, new technologies, and the spread of civilizations by first building and then regenerating cities. Humanity has been making cities for almost 10,000 years, but this acceleration in this 100th century has yet to be precedent. By 2100, nearly 10 billion people will live in more than 10,000 larger cities. We are on a tremendous human anthropological trek. We are an urbanizing species, building a planet of cities. We don’t know how to do it, so we have to invent it.
